Gobala is one of the typical successful online entrepreneur. It usually goes like this:-

First one started creating ebook do do affiliate marketing. Second he/she got some small success (or even some failure) in the project.

However they learn a lot about making money online because of that venture.

Then move up the ladder and document how you did it and "teach other people how to make money online"

It is the last part where most internet infopreneurs mostly become successful and make real money.

Finally thay gave up their original subject/knowledge (in gobala case it is VoIP ebook) and focus solely on make money online.

I expect this trend will last for at least 1 more decade (until internet connection is as prevalent as electric/water supply in every home).

Guess what, I will probably join the bandwagon too (seriously).

Why... simply because I also read tons about online marketing but did't have a place to store all my knowledge. So why not I put it in a blog FOR MY OWN REFERENCE, and as a sideline, for other peoples reference as well (and I will make money along the way from Adsense, chitika or the like)
