“My 26 Keys To Success”

I was sitting at home after I did my interview with Vince Tan via skype and came to some realizations for someones success and what I think we need. These might come in useful for someone just starting out and in need of some motivation.

(FYI - I will be releasing that interview podcast with Vince soon, Subscribe to my RSS feed to be updated when that comes out. )

1. Realize Your PotentialKeys To Success

You need to see that you have the potential to reach your goals. While this is not always the easiest thing in the world, it is necessary that you know what you are capable of. Keep a positive outlook and remember that each step you take brings you closer to your goals. One of the best ways to stay positive is to visualize your goal continuously. Asking yourself some very simple “Can I…” questions will help you to find you strengths and weaknesses. Then you can work with that information to reach your full potential and your goals in the process.

2. Don’t Look Back

Everyone has failures or mistakes. You need to learn from your past and value those hard lessons, do not dwell, move forward. There are so many people who let their past mistakes and failures rule their lives. Don’t be one of those people; the pain just is not worth it! Instead, look to the future and let those hard won lessons to guide you to future success. Reviewing your past experiences, in a positive light, is the best guide we all have. Learning from those mistakes is the best way to make sure that you do not make them again.

3. Dare to Dream

We ALL need dreams and aspirations. Be honest with yourself as to what you want out of life and what you want to give of your life. A life without dreams and aspirations is pretty boring after all. Do you dream of one day Owning your own home or starting that home-based business? Are you willing to work harder or longer hours, in terms of overtime, to buy that new home? Do you have the time to put into a home-based business to make it successful? Is being a parent what you dream of; be ready to spend a lot of time answering the question “Why?”

4. Business Plan

First step if you are planning to build a business is to put your ideas down in writing. This is the best way for potential investors to know what it consists of. It is also the best way you to have to be Able to keep track of your progress. This is a necessary step to getting the funding that you might need to get started. Banks and investors will not give you start-up money or invest in your business without a written business plan. You also cannot get a business license from your town, county or state without a written business plan. I know that this is a lot to think about, however, it is only the beginning for a business owner.

5. Don’t Give Up

You have to persevere. There will be many times in your life where giving up Is Not an option. You will either sink or swim by your own outlook and attitude. Many times life will hand you some very difficult circumstances to deal with. How you deal with them determines how well you will succeed in life. Keep a positive outlook and you will eventually rise above the difficulty.

6. Have an Unstoppable Attitude

Determination is what makes the most successful people in the world who they were and got them where they are. People around you may want you to take your focus in another direction, but do not let them. Uphold your attitude and determination to succeed. Standing your ground, even if you are going against the tide, is true determination. Do you dream of running your own business? If so, you really need to be ready for a whole lot of negativity. Most people will tell you “You won’t succeed”, “You can’t do it” or “That’ll never work” Do Not listen to them or let them change your mind once you’ve made your choices.

7. Stop the Complaining

There is a direct correlation between complaining and success. Don’t spend time complaining, as it is non-productive. Don’t think of challenges as problems; instead think of them as opportunities to grow. Being negative about a challenge or problem gets you nowhere, except frustrated and depressed. The better way to deal with any challenges or problems is to face them head-on and with a positive attitude. This will give you a much better opportunity to succeed at whatever you have decided to do. Think about this; do you really feel any better about the situation, after you have complained about it? Probably Not.

8. Focus on Something You Like

Concentrate your efforts on something you enjoy. How you brainstorm and narrow your interests will definitely help you focus on what you really like. Would you rather be doing something you enjoy or something you cannot stand? Most people will tell you that they would rather be doing something they really enjoy. This is a key component when you are putting together any kind of business plan. If you truly enjoy what you plan on or are already doing, then you will succeed. This is what all of the most successful people know when it comes to winning in business.

9. Change Your Circumstances

It is your choice to accept your position as it is or change it. Don’t plug away at life hoping that something will change. No one can change you life except for you, as many people have often said. If you are in a dead-end job with no possibility of advancement, go get a better job. If you have a good job but have not been promoted, talk to your manager about it. Chances are that you have not been paying attention to the possibilities; or that you just have not asked yet. Your life is exactly what you make of it; whether it is great or the pits depend on you.

10. Have a Plan

Even if it is flimsy to begin with, construct a plan to include a goal. Set those milestones and keep it visual. This is just the beginning of the pathway of success. If your (business) plan is very rough and untamed, talking to successful business people will help. Another good piece of advice is to have more than one plan in place; an emergency plan, if you will. Most successful people have always built a contingency plan into their original plans. This will give you more than one option when the going gets rough.

MySpace - I finally got a profile

Ok ok, I finally got myself a Myspace page. I have been fighting this for a LONG time because I thought that it was just too kiddish for me and I never was one to sit and ponder other peoples high school drama. I know, that sounds stuckup and selfish but I am just being honest (I’m not really like that, I just didn’t want to be a part of the high school myspace phase). So, after much hair pulling and arm twisting from friends, I got one up and started messing with it. Before I get into that, I want to say that while attending Simon Leungs Adwords workshop I met these two awesome graphic designers, Roberto & Danny. They are up and coming in the internet marketing world and already have made a name for themselves. Well, for a price, I had them design my first myspace layout directly aimed at my personality rather than business. I am all about having fun with making money online rather than being this stuck up “guru” who writes boring content and then charges $10k for people to read it. Like I said before, I want to have fun while doing this so I had them spice up my page with my interests and passions; graffiti art, lowrider bikes, and break dancing! I know this web log is directed towards making money online and internet marketing but my personality has to show and I can’t have a good time not being myself.

Back to myspace. So, I set one up and started adding my friends and thought, well is this going to be for business or fun? I decided both, so I have to keep it clean. Therefore, I am not going to just add anyone. The people whom I allow onto my page are my immediate close friends who know what I am trying to do online and my internet marketing friends. All this basic info does have a point! We know that myspace is a place of communication and a way of keeping in touch with people from way back in your day. We create our own little corner of the internet and devote it to our interests and passions.

Why Myspace?

Well, because it has the best benefits and largest network currently in existance. It has way over 100 million users and keeps getting larger. For internet marketers, this is a great place. They have groups and forums that are related to specific niches which allows you to find the exact people you need to invite as friends in order to sell or offer your product and service. After you have fun doing all that research, you can try to zero in on those groups and figure which ones will be most responsive. Find people who have certain interests or use certain words in their profiles to really narrow it down. Like, if you were looking for a good affiliate for your product, all you would have to do is research the backgrouds of people that are laser targeted and add them as friends. Make sure that you create some kind of database of these names so you do not forget why you added them (little tip from the pro’s).
With the forums, do the samething but instead you need to add some useful information to the threads, you can’t just throw up your product. Then try to attempt to get as many people to join your list from those specific forum threads or groups while contacting them periodically to develope some kind of personal relationship. You can use the large scale bulletin or private message feature to reach just about anyone.
Another benefit of using Myspace is that you can upload your page with all sorts of images, videos and basically saturate it with information about you and your business without the worry of hosting fees.

The Layout

The first thing to consider with your myspace page layout is your profile must be easy to load. You know that when you are searching around the internet and a page that you are interested in takes forever to load, you just navigate away. I know I do. For the people that want that solid information don’t want to have to find thier way through the bells and whistles or slow loading effects to get to that info.

Second
…try not to use a whole lot of filler in your descriptions. From a marketers perpesctive, you want to put a lot of fact in a relativley small space. This allows people to quickly see what you do and how it can benefit them. For the profile page, just make it snappy and to the point. Of course, that blog feature is awesome. You can link back from your profile page to your blog with a more detailed version of what you are offering to save some space. Plus that blog space is great to spat about how you are doing in your business or do a great review for an affiliate.

Lastly
…make sure the arrangment of information is set in a logical succession of thought. I am hugely rotten at this, as my thoughts are scattered and it is always hard for me to write without jumping around with my ideas… like I am now!

What Really Matters

I have had some reality checks this past month rather than money checks. I have come to learn that what really matters in your life is your family and friends, and of course, to have fun with what you are doing. We here from these im’ers to not shut out your spouses or significants others to the point that they will leave you… Or neglect your immediate family that you forget what really matters. Always take time away from your computers for them and make sure to have “you” time as to not lose yourself in the online world.  So, with that, I will be ME more here on this web log and not some professional schmuck wanna be guru. This will be my blogging journey to earn my income online. I plan on being my sarcastic self while still providing valuable information about internet business and making money online. Although, thier are times when I think internet marketing sucks and I want to give up all the time but I was lucky enough to surround myself with some great people that I have met at seminars to keep me going. So instead of giving the content in such a boring manner, I will throw in my sarcasim and real thoughts about with what info works and with what doesn’t. Keepin’ it real with what really goes down behind the scences of those seminars and how these guys really work! ha!

Ok I am out.

Gobala Krishnan Interview

Here is a quick interview I did with the successful Gobala Krishnan. You do not have to be a millionare in order to be considered a success, he makes from eight to ten thousand a month with his online businesses, to me that is successful. He and his team just launched their product FiresaleExposed which outlines their success from the previous “SendUsto.Us Firesale” launch. This is a person I met while attending the World Internet Main Event held in San Francisco and it was a pleasure! These are some general questions that I thought would motivate and help anyone just starting out online…

Gobala and Toki Interview:

1. What programs and or services are you providing to achieve 8k-10k a month?

Most of my online income (about 50%) is made from selling my own products, mainly from EasyWordpress.com and a few other sites. The rest of it comes from a combination of reselling other people’s products, affiliate marketing, advertising and Google Adsense.

2. How did you get started in internet marketing?

I got started in Internet ‘marketing’ by throwing in a lot of money on auto-surf programs, almost everything I had. Everything went bust one day, and I decided to build a real business online. I created one information product about VoIP and learned a great deal from it’s failure. My next information product, a simple ebook teaching Malaysians how to withdraw money from Paypal was the first successful product I had. I achieved my first 5-figure (Ringgit Malaysia) month with that.

3. What was the turning point for you to say “I quit” at your day job?

I had been secretly exploring Internet marketing even while I was working as a sales executive in a telecommunications company in Malaysia. One day, my boss found out I had other stuff going on besides my work, and I felt the pressure started to increase in my workplace. I decided I didn’t want to spend 9 hours a day doing something I hated, so I quit and threw myself into Internet marketing even though I was not making a significant amount of money at that time.

4. How long did it take for you to achieve 8k-10k a month?

It took me about 8 months.

5. Why did you start a blog and how long have you had it?

I started a blog to brand myself, and also to get more traffic to my websites. My blog at GobalaKrishnan.com is my first serious effort at blogging, and it has been online since March 2006.

6. How much do you make from your blog and HOW are you doing it?
