About Toki Tover …Toki Tover Pic

A not so young wanna be blogger from San Jose, California who makes money, part time, from affiliate marketing endeavors and newly acquired jv projects. I have been to many seminars throughout 2007 trying to edumucate myself, making a number of internet marketing friends and mentors. This blog is my record of that journey to making a living online. My goal is to learn that stinkin’ skill and give that knowledge and information to others through this blog. Check out my “Bitter Veteran” for a better look into my personal past. I went from a military jet mechanic spark chaser to an automobile mechanic grease monkey to a bankin’ paper pusher… soon to be full time internet marketer. I chill and work out of my home or on my laptop while traveling.

I started back in 2006 joining an affiliate marketing program, PIPS. The site offered the typical streams of residual income and a timeline of what to do each day, complete with any newbie how to do everything videos and info. With this program I earned my first $50-$100 a month within 2months of joining. Once I got a taste of the power of the internet, I never looked back. This was my starting point to learning about SEO, keyword research, blogging, affiliate marketing, article writing/submission, email auto responders, and all the rest of that internet marketing hoop lah.

I have come to this point in my journey by stepping out of my comfort zone and attending my first seminar up in Boise, ID; Russell Brunsons dotcomsecrets workshop. This is where I had to force myself to get out there and meet people interested in the same things and get to networking. You have to realize that this online stuff can not be done by yourself, I had to realize this too. From then on, I was attending seminars and meeting a butt load of people who are now helping and teaching me through my “IM wanna be” career.

The Bitter Veteran

Stay tuned for my rants and raves of my military career - Basically I am just whining!

My Intro:

USAF - Electrical & Environmental Journey-woman :

- I basically was a spark chasing jet mechanic, part replacer for the U-2 aircraft out a Beale AFB, Ca. The job title is pretty though. I took care of all electrical problems, AC problems, pressurization for the pilot/jet etc… I started back in 2000 and ended in 2005…Deployed everywhere you can think of in Europe, Cyprus and I did some time in U.A.E. (the desert) when the war started. I am still a reservist though until 2008. Whoop pee. Here is a mug shot from when I was in bootcamp - I’m the one on the top row, left. (leaning on the helicopter, tallest one.) I was mad that day because I decided I would start laughing while singing the Air Force song, therefore had to clean the MANY bleachers full of mud and dirt for three hours! Couldn’t help it though. :)

Rants:

To start off, I don’t like the fact that the entertainment world likes to make reality shows or movies about the military world and it’s everyday life. They have no clue what is going on in real time or behind closed doors. They probably get their information from stuck up “butter bars” who have a degree in passing out basketballs… whatever.
Moreover, it kills me that these wanna be actors are being paid way too much for something that they have no clue what it is like to be a part of. For example, the television show “Over There” or “Armywives”, depicted the lives of soldiers in Iraq during the war. Nothing like that. All the women are not “desert bunnies” and the drama does not happen that way. These men and women are fighting day and night, for the U.S. citizens and get crap in return. Meaning no benefits, money or fame!

These ridiculous actors don’t do a thing and get paid hundreds of thousands for pretending to be apart of something that has no bearing to them. I do not understand how they get paid so much and the REAL soldiers get shit. Soldiers die everyday and the families do not get close to what these actors make in one day.

Where is the justice in that? All Veterans know what I am talking about.

The Work Equality

  • Now when you join the military you are on a salary based pay rate. Also, you have rank systems that you follow to show ‘time in’ and there are tests involved. OK, now I went through a 20 week or so tech training for the job I went into. I had to learn the jets electrical systems and learn all basic laws of electricity. Fairly easy for me to learn these things because it was what I was into. We tend to learn something a lot easier when interested. To take this back, people can come into the AF with or without a ’stripe’, rank system, depending on age or schooling. I went in with two stripes because I had a college degree when I enlisted. NOW, no matter what job you do, or how much schooling background you have, everyone within the same stripe level will get paid the same amount. This is where my rant starts. There are so many jobs you can choose from in the military; from the no brainer of serving food to the technical work of jet systems. I am completely bitter of this fact that I had to go through such extensive training to be able to solve the U-2’s problems, working always a good 10 hours a day from 3pm to 1 or 2 in the morning, while these food servers put out their 7 hours doing a morning shift slappin’ down food on people’s plates or handing out towels at the gym. Being at the same stripe level, WE both were paid the SAME. There was a complete knowledge difference and hour difference but we were paid at the same rate. That BUGS me still!

Verterans Day November 12, 2007

Besides all that BS I talk about, I was proud to be a part of the USAF and proud to have served. I went everywhere and back after Sept. 11th happened and I never once complained because I knew of the thousands that were stuck in a hole or being blasted at, wishing to be home and safe. So to all that are still serving and have served, I SALUTE YOU.

Never forget the fallen and still standing soldiers of the United States Military.
